Société Générale Research Hub
Société Générale’s Spring 2026 Investor Sentiment Survey highlights a clear preference among institutional allocators for specific investment strategies amidst shifting market dynamics. According to data from 486 respondents across 310 firms, Discretionary Global Macro has emerged as the most sought-after strategy for the period. Interest also remains robust for Commodities and Equity Market Neutral approaches, suggesting a continued institutional focus on diversification and non-correlated returns. Conversely, the research indicates a cooling of interest in Systematic Multi-Strategy and ESG-focused allocations, both of which have seen notable declines in sentiment. Geographically, the survey identifies a significant structural shift in the Americas, where nearly half of the respondents now prefer Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) over traditional commingled funds. These findings collectively suggest that investors are increasingly prioritizing transparency and macroeconomic positioning in their portfolio construction.
